A very simple idea to decorate the Knitting baskets serie with colored yarn and all your imagination!
SUPPLIES
- Colored Yarn, choose the thickness of the yarn based on the diameter of the surface holes
- Scissors
- Needle with large eye
A nice geometrical decoration will be easy to create following the holes pattern. Choose your favorite scheme and decide which color yarn you are going to use first.
We are going to create a modern chevron pattern.
Thread the needle and fix it in the first two holes with a double knot on the back, inside the basket. This will secure your embroidered decoration. The yarn will hide the knot. Start to follow the pattern, pass the yarn through every hole 3 times. This will make your decoration thicker and more visible.
When you have completed the row fix the yarn with a knot as you did in the first hole. Hide the knot.
Now you can proceed with your pattern, change the color of the yarn, fix it at the first hole and repeat.
Add a nice triangular decoration to create movement, pass the yarn through every hole of the pattern just 2 times. The change of thickness will add a nice 3D effect to your decoration.
You can create different decorations using different pattern. Play with your imagination!
