If you are looking for an excuse to play with them again, here a very nice DIY tutorial that will guide you in creating beautiful coasters for your summer drinks!
SUPPLIED
- Iron-on beads in different colors
- Square beads plate
- Tweezers
- Parchment paper
- Iron
HOW TO DO
To make this DIY you need iron beads sensitive to the heat of the iron. You can easily find them as “Hama beads”. We will make square coasters. For this reason, we will use the square plate. If you want to make them round or in another shape, you will need round or other shaped plates.
First of all you have to decide which design or pattern you want to make. We offer you three different geometric patterns arazzo style. You can download here the diagrams, follow them to correctly position the beads. You can also design your own pattern personalizing your coasters. Just remember to alternate colors.
Place the beads on the base one by one using the tweezers.
You may find out that creating these geometric patterns is really relaxing! Once the design is complete, cover the beads with a piece of baking paper and heat them with the iron.
Pass the iron over the beads with circular movements, until they begin to melt. Be careful to melt only the surface part of the beads, and not the plastic base otherwise it will not be possible to remove the composition.
Wait few minutes until the beads will cool and gently remove the baking paper. Your coaster is ready!
